I had guessed this might be Granddad and Grandma
on their wedding day, with the Lycoming County courthouse in the
background -- but Uncle Don corrected me. It's Great Uncle Earl Richards and a
girlfriend out for a spin, and the building is the old silk mill in Jersey Shore, near
Richards Coal & Lumber -- the family business that Earl and his
brother Lee inherited. "The
year was probably around
1915," says Don, "because
Dad was in World War I
and Earl was a little older than Dad." --
